Things I Am Proud Of

Friday, June 27, 2008

Since school let out this past May, I've found myself somewhat bored with being home (hence the blog). I've no idea what to do with my time OR this whole "blog" thing, so I'm going to use it to post pictures and such of the things I've been occupying my time with. Here goes nothing!

Ok for starters: I have an addiction to plants and dirt. I think they're cool. The first word I have ever spoken on this earth was "flower"-- I really dig (no pun intended) gardening. I also have this terrible "maternal" instinct that causes me to want to take care of anything and everything put in front of me, right down to some corn seeds I stumbled upon earlier this summer. The two combined (maternal instinct and love of dirt) brought about these beautiful little plants that will hopefully yield some beautifully delicious and sweet corn.

More Corn!

I'd be lying if I said that I grew all of the corn in the garden from seeds. Sadly, only two of the plants I have were grown entirely by me. The other plants were grown by a local nursery. I'll be posting more pictures of my corn as it gets larger.

Onto my next project: my rainbow awesomeness blanket! I started it sometime near my birthday, which was mid-May, so I've been working on the damned thing for a very long time. It's still not finished yet but is very, very close! What inspired me to make a blanket during the heat of the summer is beyond me-- it's so warm and heavy to work on that I've been stalling quite a bit. Regardless, I love it.

Doesn't it just make you want to snuggle?

Anyways, those are my latest two projects! The more I write the more things I am coming up with to post, so in order to save whoever happens to be reading this a very long, boring time, I'm going to stop now. For further enjoyment, or enjoyment sans reading, check out the flickr. Later!
